What is it made of?

A special homopolymer plastic

Will it cut through?

Not normally. Sure, you can stick an ice pick through it or slash it with a meat cleaver, but using it as designed, the FCM will not cut through

Will it dull my knives?

No, it is knife friendly. This material was carefully selected to be precisely hard enough not to cut through and at the same time soft enough not to take the edge off a sharp blade

Is it dishwasher safe?

Absolutely! Place it on the top shelf in the dishwasher

What about bacteria? What is Microban®?

Microban® anti-microbial product protection inhibits the growth of stain and odor causing bacteria. The Flexible cutting mat also has major advantages over wooden or rigid cutting boards. First, being flexible; when you scrub it, any score marks will "open up", allowing for a better cleansing action. Secondly, the FCM can be placed in a dishwasher which kills most germs and bacteria.

Do I have to use it on top of a butcher block or cutting board?

No! Any flat surface will do. 

Can I roll dough on it?

I deal for pizza, rolling pie crusts, etc. Sprinkle lightly with flour if doe sticks.

Will it lose it's shape?

I could become a little "wavy" if exposed to high temperature. If so, simply run it under hot water.

Is it planet friendly?

Absolutely...completely recyclable.
